2024 EYEWEAR TRENDS

2024 EYEWEAR TRENDS

2024 is going to be gone in a blink of an eye, and we hadn’t even gotten a chance to discuss the glasses trends we’ve been noticing here at Spectacle. We’re happy to see that some of our predictions of up and coming trends last time are really hitting their stride this year! It’s so fun to help our patients choose a new style and help to discover these new trends right along with them. So here they are, our top three trends of the year, a trend that’s still going strong, and a big up and comer to look out for…

Eco-Friendly

Our society, more than ever now, is focused on what we can do to help preserve our planet and why not start with your glasses?! We love our eco-friendly line of frames by Eco and are seeing that patients are totally on board as well! Eco is completely made of recycled materials, including their packaging! We predicted a rise in eco-friendly on our last trend report, and that prediction has held steady over the beginning of 2024.

VIbrant Colors and Patterns

We are seeing a surge of patients interested in fun pops of color, and we are totally here for it!! Our newest line, Orgreen, is a perfect example of this! They have the coolest colors with unique patterns or color combinations. Our patients have been totally loving all that Orgreen has to offer.

Bold Styles

Along those same lines, bold and oversized frames are still in their era. We’re seeing unique or oversized shapes, chunky styles, and really anything that makes a statement. It is so fun to see our patients really enjoying selecting a new style and getting into the fashion aspect of it. We may be a little biased, but we think that glasses are your best accessory! Your eyewear can totally complete a look, make you stand out in the best way possible, and really show off your style. So have fun with it! Our Barton Perreira and Moscot lines are our go-to frames for this trend-setting category!

Still Going Strong: Metals

Metals were on the rise over the past couple years, and we are still seeing them shine. Some people have been coming in asking specifically for “thin wire” frames, while others just point at the aviator on the shelf and say, ”that’s it!” We like to lump all these into the metals category. We’ve been seeing both men and women gravitate toward the metal frames of just about any shape or size. Some go smaller and round, while others want oversized or funky shapes. We are loving the thin, lightweight titanium of Orgreens, especially when mixed in fun colors. The guys are particularly liking the Moscot round metals and the aviator look by pretty much every brand. Whatever your interest may be, we’ve got you covered on this BIG new trend in eyewear!

Going on 5+ years: Lighter Shades

We’ve been hearing from experts and insiders that the lighter colored frames are particularly common after a dark time in society. We couldn’t agree more! Our see through hues and lighter shades were popular when we first opened in 2019, dropped off in popularity a bit a few years ago, but over the past couple years, they are still holding steady as an asked for color by our patients. We are curious to see how long this trend can stick around!

Look out for: Retro

They say what goes around, comes around! We think that is so true in fashion and trends, too! We have been seeing a shift toward more retro styles.. think the chunky frames of the 70s, the smaller frames of the 80s, and aviators and rectangular frames of the 90s. We have seen a rise in interest in these frames and predict that to continue throughout 2024 and into 2025. We’re excited to check back next year and see if we are right on this one, too!

Maybe these styles are exactly what you were looking for or not quite for you, but we do know that our patients are always trend setters! We are excited to help you choose your style for the next year either way. And you never know when you may be wearing the next biggest trend in eyewear!
