Our mission is to provide the highest quality eye care to every patient we see. Our comprehensive examination utilizes state-of-the-art technology testing your eyes for their proper prescription and neurological integrity, evaluating for any diseases of the eye including: glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. We also strive to give back as much as we can, whether it be by donating glasses, teaming up with charitable frame lines, or school screenings and veteran exams.
ABOUT US
Courtney Kassebaum Bovy, O.D.
Dr. Kassebaum Bovy attended California State University, Fullerton and Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. While at ICO she received a Bachelors of Science in Visual Sciences and in 2014 was awarded a Doctor of Optometry degree. She enjoys being able to fit each patient in the perfect contact lens and combating dry eye disease that many in Southern California experience.
Mitch Bovy, O.D.
Dr. Bovy attended the University of Iowa and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology. He went on to attend the Illinois College of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2014. With his extensive experience co-managing LASIK and cataract exams, he is the best advocate to guide you through any pre or post operative exam.
Courtney and Mitch moved to Southern California following graduation from ICO, got married in 2016 and set up residence in Yorba Linda with their mini Goldendoodle, Cooper. They have expanded their family with the addition of their daughter, Parker, in August 2021. You may see them around on family walks or hikes when they aren’t at the office!

Kayla
Our optician-in-training, Kayla, is a proud mother of three. She is enjoying this new opportunity in the eyecare field and learning to be the best optician to help make sure our patients glasses fit their best. For fun, she enjoys going on hikes and hanging out at the beach with her kids.
NINA
Our receptionist/technician, Nina, is currently working towards a degree in Business Administration from Long Beach City College. She is excited to be using what she is learning to ensure our practice and our patients’ needs are well taken care of here at Spectacle! In her spare time, she enjoys puzzles, reading, and taking hikes with friends and family.
Abbie
Our receptionist/technician, Abbie, graduated from UCI in 2024 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and is currently working towards her Masters in Speech Language Pathology. She is excited to be working with patients to help with their eye care journey! For fun she loves traveling new places and spending time with her family and friends.
