FIVE HOT SUMMER SUNNIES TRENDS
Although summer technically hasn’t started yet, it sure feels like it outside! And with the weather warming up, we’re looking at the hottest summer trends in sunglasses coming our way in 2020. Sunglasses trends vary quite a bit each year without us even noticing sometimes. Last year, the biggest trend was skinny 90s style sunglasses. Just as quickly as those came back, that trend has already disappeared. In turn, we have some cool new trends to keep an eye out for!
Modern Aviators and Double Bridges
Aviators have been around for a while. However, this year, they are getting an update! The obvious, all shiny metal aviators of the past have now become double bridge sunglasses, where the top bar is more accentuated and highlighted like our Barton Perreira Courtiers. They are sure to be a show stopper! On the other end of the spectrum, aviators with more subtle top bars that blend seamlessly into the frame are also on the rise, like our Ovvo aviators.
Round
Round glasses and sunglasses have been all the talk over the last few years, and it doesn’t look like they are going anywhere anytime soon. From smaller round frames like our State Optical Co. Fosters to oversized round frames by Modo, they are all great choices for your summer sunglasses. We have round shapes in just about every brand we carry, and we cannot get enough!
Oversized
Oversized sunglasses are back, and boy, did we miss all that extra protection and flair! They are always so fun and funky, like these great styles from Barton Perreira. Keep a lookout for more square oversized shapes this year. That will be the newest oversized style to come!
Geometric Shapes
One of the more funky and out there trends this year, is unique, geometric and angular shapes. We’re seeing some that are very obvious, like our Ovvo transparent frames, and some more subtle, like these Ray-Ban sunglasses with just a nod to a geometric shape with a flat bottom. If you’re hesitant of a bold shape, the more subtle option may be a perfect fit for you!
Black on Black
The classic black sunglasses are always a hit! We are loving the new black on black, where a black frame with no insignia, often matte in texture, is mixed with a black lens giving such a cool vibe. These glasses are perfect for everyone and can come in any shape to fit your face. Classic, cool, iconic and never going out of style in our opinion!
