WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU EDGE
At Spectacle, we are proud to offer in-office edging! But what exactly does that mean? Basically, we cut the lenses of your prescription to fit in the frame you chose perfectly. By doing this ourselves rather than at an outside lab, you can get your glasses quicker, much quicker. In some cases, we are even able to have your glasses ready the same day!! Here’s a little behind the scenes look at how we make that all happen and what edging lenses is all about.
To start, we trace the chosen frame to ensure we capture the exact shape for the edged lens’ to fit into. We do so by putting your frame into the machine below. This machine will take precise measurements of your frame so our edger knows how to shape your uncut lenses!
Next, we take the uncut lenses with your prescription in them and use measurements that are specific to you in order to prepare them for cutting. By aligning the lenses to match where we measured your eyes to look through the frames, this allows you to see your best. When we finish this step, your lenses are ready for edging!
Now that your lenses are prepped and ready, we secure them in the edger. The edger will then cut your lenses to fit perfectly into your frame. Not only that, but it will also polish your lenses so they come out looking fabulous!
After edging is complete, the lenses are then inserted into the frames. We then clean the glasses and place them in their case to await being picked up by you!
Edging lenses in our office allows us to get your glasses to you speedy quick.
